A couple of weeks back I was invited through work to attend the opening of the new Ruinart Terrace at the Cedar Court Grand Hotel & Spa in York*. I knew it was the only 5 star hotel in York so having never been before was really excited to take a sneak peek at this luxury property.
The terrace is tucked away in the shadow of the hotel, away from the bustle of the ring road making it a really exclusive, relaxed spot for a few drinks. It was a lovely sunny evening so being greeted by a cool glass of bubbly on arrival was just perfect.
After soaking up the excited atmosphere on the terrace which was complete with stylish new furnishings I was taken inside the hotel for a nosey round the spa. Hidden below the hotel in the basement the spa was like a secret world of indulgence.
As the spa was built into the hotel's basement which is connected to the old railway tunnels, the spa had gorgeous original features like heavy metal doors and stone arches.

The spa featured a very inviting-looking swimming pool and jacuzzi, sauna and steam rooms. Think I'll definitely be heading back to give the spa a try!

After we'd looked around the spa we headed into the hotel's whisky bar and lounge for another cheeky glass of champers. It had such gorgeous decor; I particularly enjoyed the bonus taxidermy.
It was a really nice evening and really showed off the hotel's best bits. Definitely one to add onto my long bucket list of hotels to stay in!
